Divorce Mediation
Central Valley Collaborative Law Association:  What it is and how Psychologists participate in helping families find mediation in the divorce process outside of a court of law.

Dr. Susan Napolitano, Ph.D.

Presented by Susan Napolitano, Ph.D. and a panel to include a family law attorney and financial professional. This class will examine how the collaborative process works and who is in the practice groups. Presenters will discuss how professionals of different disciplines can work together to navigate through a divorce process utilizing the Collaborative Life Cycle and examine steps to promoting peace utilizing the Power Circle and four choice of conflict resolution. We will be discussing ground rules used in meetings to promote respectful and productive communications and how the mediation tools are used to diffuse tense divorce negotiations. See how mental health therapists are utilized to aid in parenting, communication, post divorce boundaries and developing a healthy parenting plan in a relatively new utilization of the psychological professional.
