Hello fellow SJVPA members and colleagues! SJVPA would like to present another Continuing Education class featuring Catherine Pou, Ph.D.
Suicide and Suicide Attempts of Clients; Therapists Reaction and Self-Care.
This presentation will take place at Marie Callenders, 6:30-8:00PM, May 11
Free to all who attend (bring a friend!) and $15.00 for one continuing education credit if you are licensed (Pending approval).
Dr. Pou will speak of the latest suicide rates in the general population as well as for clients of mental health clinicians. We will learn about Clinician response to client suicide over time and hear about case studies. Clinicians will also learn about Psychologist suicide rates, ethical and legal issues and self-care as well. Finally we will learn about resources for impaired colleagues and how to approach our colleagues should we suspect impairment.
Dr. Catherine Pou is currently Adjunct Faculty in Psychology at Brandman University in Visalia, CA. She is also Senior Psychologist, Specialist with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Dr. Pou graduated from Alliant International University/California School of Professional Psychology Center for Forensic Studies with her Doctorate in Forensic Psychology.
