Why We Repeat Undesired and Undesirable Behaviors: Neuroscience Discovers the Unconscious
Presented by
Errol F. Leifer, Ph.D.
About the Event: This training will provide Presentation to offer a summary of recent cognitive neuroscience research findings on the subcortical and cortical implicit memory and stored behavioral, ideational, emotional and physiological action potentials and sequences.
Educational Objectives: By the completion of this course, participants will be able to
1. Expand understanding of behavior from cortical to include subcortical areas and processes
2. Expand understanding that behaviors, from simple to highly complex, can be produced by nonconscious stored informational sequences
3. Introduce evidence that implicit brain functions produce motivated, purposive and highly complex manifestations of action, cognition and emotion.
4. Elaborate upon the primal effects of early interpersonal experiences stored in implicit memory areas along with adaptive behavioral responses.
5. Establish repetition in nonconscious subcortical routines or implicit memory
